Amy Baker Takes the Lead as Chief Human Resources Officer at JWCC

Amy Baker is the new Chief Human Resources Officer at John Wood Community College. Baker is bringing a sense of high energy into her new lead role in the Human Resource Department.

“We are delighted to welcome aboard our new Chief Human Resources Officer, whose vibrant energy, seasoned background in higher education, and proactive approach ensure she’s poised to hit the ground running,” JWCC President Dr. Bryan Renfro said. “Her wealth of experience and enthusiasm will undoubtedly elevate our institution’s HR initiatives to new heights.”

Baker has 20 years of experience in the field of human resources. She previously served as executive director of human resources at Culver-Stockton College in Canton, Missouri. Prior to that role Baker was the human resources director for Sunset Home in Quincy and human resources director for Heartland Health Care Center in Macomb, Illinois. Baker also held the position of human resource specialist at Mosaic in Macomb as well.

In addition to her human resource experience, Baker is a part of several national and state-wide committees including the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources, the Society for Human Resource Management, and the International Honor Society for Business. She holds a Master of Business Administration from Culver-Stockton College and a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences from Western Illinois University.
